8 dead, 100 missing in landslide in Indonesia – CNN

Jakarta, Indonesia (CNN) — Eight people have died and 100 more are missing in a landslide in Indonesia on Saturday, the country’s disaster management agency said in a statement.

Heavy rains triggered the landslide in the Karangkobar district of central Java, the National Disaster Management Agency said.

The military, local Red Cross officials, police, volunteers, and the national search and rescue agency have joined in a search and rescue mission in the affected area, the statement said.
