Ben Rhodes emerged late and held off a hard-charging Christopher Bell for his first career win in Saturday night’s Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The No. 27 Toyota driver led 20 total laps and showed off some impressive handling as Bell’s No. 4 Toyota barreled down on him in the closing circuits. Rhodes advances to the Round of 6 with his win.
Rounding out the top five were Chase Briscoe in the No. 29 Ford, Austin Cindrice in the No. 19 Ford and Kaz Grala in the No. 33 Chevrolet.
A major wreck kicked off Stage 2, when trucks stacked up on the restart. Playoffs drivers Johnny Sauter, Grala and Cindric were all involved, along with Cameron Haley and Noah Gragson.
Later on in the stage, Cindric spun out through the grass, but recovered nicely with the top-five finish.
The series races next at Talladega Superspeedway on October 14 (1 p.m. ET on FOX, MRN, Sirius XM NASCAR Radio).
